Description of community agency/organization:
The Ontario Early Years Centre (OEYC) offers free programs for families and caregivers with children 0-6 years of age.
What you will do:
- assist with planning daily age-appropriate and drop-in activities
- assist with the daily set-up and clean-up of the centre
- provide activities that encourage parent/child interactions
Skills required:
- flexible and responsible
- enjoys working with children and adults
- takes initiative
- excellent interpersonal skills
- problem-solving skills
Skills you will learn:
- understanding about child development
- ability to prepare activities based on children's interest
- support children's learning
- work directly with parents and their children
