Mayor's Youth Advisory Committee
Description of community agency/organization: Founded by Mayor Hazel McCallion in 1982, the Mayor's Youth Advisory Committee (MYAC) has evolved into a dynamic group of dedicated young people between the ages of 14 and 24 who live in Mississauga. MYAC members volunteer at numerous events and organize festivals such as Youth Week. At monthly general meetings, MYAC is a forum to meet new people, learn about and discuss issues affecting young people and receive opportunities to make a difference in the community.

Committee Member - various volunteer opportunities
What you will do:
Members of MYAC members attend general meetings on the second Wednesday of each month to discuss issues and learn about volunteer opportunities. Volunteer hours can be earned by helping to organize events, writing articles for the MYAC website, volunteering at events, or working on projects.

- individuals become official members after attending three general meetings
