Administrative Staff Group (A.S.G.) Bursary
The Administrative Staff Group, representing technical and mid-management employees within the Board, has established three (3) bursaries of $1,500.00 each. These bursaries will be awarded to three graduating students in our school system, who have been accepted in an undergraduate degree program at a Canadian university. Application form
Arya Samaj Markham Scholarship Program
The Arya Samaj Markham Scholarship Program is intended to encourage leadership and academic excellence among high school students. In order to qualify, the students must be eligible to receive the Ontario Secondary School Diploma in 2012 and proceed to University or College in the 2012/2013 academic year. Application form

Congress of Black Women Of Canada Mississauga & Area Chapter scholarship
The Congress of Black Women of Canada, Mississauga and Area Chapter is giving out a scholarship to honour the academic achievements of our youth and to encourage them to maximize their potential by providing financial support. The value of the scholarship is $1,000. Application form
University of Toronto Portuguese Association Scholarship
This scholarship was founded to encourage the Portuguese youth of today to take initiative in pursuing a post-secondary education at the University of Toronto. It serves also to foster an increased concern among our youth for their future and the opportunities that such an education gives way to.
In addition to rewarding academic performance, this scholarship recognizes those students who have also shown leadership through community involvement, extra-curricular activities, and work experience, thereby forming an exceptionally well-rounded individual. Application form
C. Lloyd Dobson Music Scholarship
This award was established to honour C. Lloyd Dobson on the occasion of his retirement from the Peel Board of Education where he served for many years as Teacher, Principal, Superintendent and Associate Director. The award will be made to a graduating Peel student who is entering a full time music education degree program at a recognized post secondary institution. Application form
Canadian Tamil Youth Development Centre Awards of Excellence
The Canadian Tamil Youth Development Centre (CanTYD) was founded by youth with the goal of empowering and developing Tamil youth by holding fast to the principles of advocacy, partnership, education, assistance, research, and mentorship. CanTYD operates as a non-profit organization that provides services and programs for Tamil youth, parents and other stakeholders throughout Toronto. The CanTYD awards are open to students in grades 9 to OAC. Application form
Dr. Albert Rose Bursary
In order to qualify for the Dr. Albert Rose bursary, you must be a tenant in rent-geared-to-income housing in Ontario.
There are two types of awards. The Full award is available for students attending the first or second year of a program in a recognized postsecondary institution and who are carrying a full course load. The program must lead to a degree, diploma or certificate. Third year (or higher) and postgraduate students are not eligible to receive a bursary award.
The Part award is available for students enrolled in a trade or skills-based training program that is at least four weeks in length, or an adult learning program or first or second year courses of a part time postsecondary program (again, third year or higher and postgraduate students are not eligible.)

Family Studies Association Award
This award, established in 1993 by the Family Studies Association, is presented annually to a student who has an interest
in teaching Family Studies in Ontario at the secondary level. An annual
scholarship or scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded to a student(s) enrolling/enrolled in a post secondary Family
Studies qualifications program at an accredited Faculty of Education in Ontario. Application deadline is June 1, 2009.
Future Apprentice OYAP Award
This award honours one outstanding recipient in Peel who plans to pursue his or her trade. The Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) Award winner will receive a keeper plaque and $500. The student must be registered as a full time co-op student and also registered through OYAP with the OYAP Resource Teacher at the Peel Board and the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. application form
Harinder Takhar Scholarship Award
Mr. Takhar was the Associate Director and Chief Financial Officer of the Peel District School Board prior to his election to the Ontario Legislature. He has been a tireless volunteer in the community, including service as Chair of the United Way of Peel and Chair and member of the Board of Governors of the Credit Valley Hospital. In 2001 Mr. Takhar received the Community Service Award from the Society of Management Accountants of Ontario. This award was established by Mr. Takhar to support a graduating student with a B+ average who is enrolled in a business studies at a Canadian University and has been actively involved in their school and their community. application form
High School Health Bursary Award
Top high school science students, in grades 11 and 12, will have the opportunity to work alongside world-class researchers this upcoming summer, through a bursary offered by Hamilton Health Sciences in partnership with McMaster University and St. Jospeh's Healthcare Hamilton.
Senior high school students who are interested in pursuing or have been accepted into a university or college level science program are eligible for a bursary of $1,500, and will be paired with research mentors from internationally renowned research programs at Hamilton Health Sciences, McMaster University and St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton.

HJA Brown Scholarship
The HJA Brown Scholarship, established to recognize the 27 years of service given to the Peel board by Jack Brown, former Superintendent of Business, is awarded annually to a student who intends to pursue physical and health education at the post-secondary level. application form
Janice Willson Music Scholarship
The Janice Willson Music Scholarship is given in memory of Janice Willson who served the Peel board for many years, most recently as Assistant Secretary of the Board. This scholarship is awarded to a graduating student who has demonstrated outstanding musical achievement and co-instructional participation, has been accepted into a music degree program at a post-secondary institution, and plans to pursue a career in performance. application form

The Friends of the Mississauga Library System is accepting applications for the Jim Wilde Library Education Award from Mississauga students who wish to pursue a professional career in libraries. details, application form
J.V. Findlay Bursary
The J.V. Findlay Bursary is administered by the Industrial Accident Prevention Association in the name of its former executive vice president and general manager. The intent of the bursary is to encourage students to pursue full time studies at an Ontario university or college of applied arts and technology in subjects that will lead to improvements in safety, health and the workplace environment for the workers of Ontario. details
Lloyd Skeen Memorial Scholarship
This award is open to black students (ie. members of the African Diaspora) in the Peel District School Board who wish to pursue full-time post-secondary studies in the field of aviation or directly related to the field of aviation.
Louise Russo Youth Award
The Louise Russo Youth Awards recognize youth that exemplify the 3R’s – Respect, Responsibility and the Role of leadership, through initiatives that reduce violence in their communities. The Awards also celebrate and promote the qualities that are important in making these communities a safe place to live, learn and play. Students from the ages of 9 to 19 are invited to complete an Application Form and share their stories about their initiative for an opportunity to win one of five (5) Youth Awards (individuals or teams) and one of three (3) Leadership Awards.
Deadline for submission of the Youth Award application is February 14, 2011.
Misssauga News Athletic Bursary
The Mississauga News Athletic Bursary provides $1,000 each, to a graduating Female and Male athletic student, who will be pursuing post secondary education (in Canada) and continuing their athletics. Application.

The Mississauga Central Lions Lewis Lawrence Gymnastics Bursary provides $1,000 each,
to a Female and Male training in gymnastics,

Muslim Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is open to anyone regardless of their religious affiliation and is not limited to Muslim students only. The Muslim Scholarship Fund is seeking to reward those (12th grade only) graduating students from the Region that show exemplary leadership by being involved in community work and maintaining good grades at the same time. The Peel Region Muslim community places a premium on community work and wants to reward students with this $500 scholarship. Last year, two students were awarded the scholarship and we hope to fund five students this year. Ontario Knights of Columbus Bursary
To mark the 100th year of the presence in Ontario of the Knights of Columbus, a Catholic, Fraternal, Family organization, a provincipal bursary program to assist Knights and members of their families pursuing a post-secondary education, was initiated in honour of their State Chaplains. details
Padgett Scholarship
The Padgett Scholarship program offers financial support to the dependents of owners of small, independent businesses throughout North America. A series of $500 educational scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school seniors who will continue their education at accredited post-secondary institutions. Each regional winner will become eligible for one international $4,000 scholarship. Since 1990, Padgett has awarded over $600,000 to dependents of small business owners. details

Peter Butler III - Rose Fortune Scholarship Program
The Scholarship Program was created by the Association of Black Law Enforcers (A.B.L.E.) in order to recognize the contribution of the first Canadian black law enforcers, Rose Fortune (1774-1864 and Peter C. Butler III (1859-1943). By awarding these scholarships, A.B.L.E. will assist black and visible minority youth to achieve their educational goals while making a positive contribution to society. details
RCGA (Royal Canadian Golf Association) Foundation
The RCGA Foundation encourages the athletic and academic careers of promising Canadian golfers, and students of the industry, by offering financial assistance through scholarships. Their mission is to offer Canadian athletes and sport academics the opportunity to stay in Canada to continue their post-secondary education while continuing to compete and train at a very high level. Scholarships are available to Ontario secondary students who are in their graduating year (grade 12). details
Retail Council of Canada - Retail as a Career Scholarship
Ten $1,000 scholarships are available to students entering a retail or business related post-secondary program. The scholarships are for students who have applied to a part-time or full-time retail or business related post-secondary program of study. Students must have retail experience on at least a part-time basis, either at the time of the scholarship application or during the summer break from full-time study. details
RH Lagerquist Citizenship Award
This award, which was established in honour of trustee Bob Lagerquist on the occasion of 30 years of service as a trustee of the Peel board, is presented annually to a graduating student who has demonstrated outstanding citizenship in his/her school and the community. application form
RN Chalmers Award
This award, which was established in recognition of Bert Chalmers' 26 years of service to the Peel District School Board as a Principal, Superintendent of Schools, Superintendent of Special Services, and Associate Director, is presented annually to a graduating student registered in a Peel secondary school who has been deemed "exceptional" and has demonstrated leadership, educational progress and made an outstanding contribution to the quality of school and community life in his/her senior year. Ron Lenyk Athletic Bursary
Mississauga Sports Council’s Ron Lenyk Athletic Bursary program will provide financial assistance to two student athletes per year (one male and one female) to put towards post-secondary education. Each recipient will receive $1,000. criteria application form
Sidney Watson Scholarship
The Sidney Watson Scholarship was established by the Watson family as a memorial scholarship. The scholarship is awarded annually to the student in Peel with the highest mark in ENG 4U0 - no application required.
Terry Fox Award of Courage
The Terry Fox Award of Courage recognizes outstanding courage displayed by a Peel student. (nominations received from school administration)
The Peel Dance Teachers' Association Dance Scholarship
This annual scholarship was established by the Peel Dance Teacher’s Association in 2005 to recognize an outstanding graduating student, who has been accepted into a post-secondary dance program. application form
The Peel Society For Education Through Art Bursary
This bursary, established by the Peel Society for Education Through Art, is awarded annually to an outstanding graduating student, who has been accepted in a Visual Arts or Applied Arts post-secondary program at a registered Canadian college or university. application form
The Peel Association For Education Through Drama Scholarship
This scholarship is presented annually by the Peel Association for Education through Drama teachers (PAED) of the Peel District School Board to a graduating Peel student who will be entering a post -secondary program in the performing arts, technical theatre or drama education in a Canadian college, university or accredited training program. application form
United Achievers'
The United Achievers’ Club of Brampton is a non-profit organization established in 1980. The founding members, who were Canadians of Black and Caribbean heritage, sought to provide avenues through which people from these communities could express their culture and add to the rich multicultural blend of Peel Region. In 1985, the first scholarship $250 was awarded and every year since then the members have ensured that funds are made available to assist students eager to enter university or college. Many of these students have gone on to realize their dreams and to contribute positively to the community through their endeavours in such fields as medicine, law, education, the arts, manufacturing, accounting and banking. As of September 2008, the United Achievers’ and its partners have assisted 219 students in their quest for higher education, providing them with approximately $215,000 in tuition assistance. WJ Wood Award
The WJ Wood Award was established in 1985 to honour the contribution by Wilf J. Wood to the education of youngsters in Peel. The award is given annually to a student who shows outstanding ability and aptitude in basic level secondary school programs. (schools will nominate candidates)
