Position title:

Volunteer at activities sponsored by Friends of the Schoolhouse

Description of the community agency:

Supports the Old Britannia Schoolhouse through community activities and fundraising.

What you will do:

Student volunteers help at occasional events by greeting visitors, demonstrating heritage toys and answering questions about The Old Britannia Schoolhouse.  Garden volunteers are needed several times a year.  Students receive community involvement

credit for the hours they volunteer.

Skills required:

An ability to meet the public and work with children.  An interest in gardening.

Skills you will learn:

  • interpersonal skills
  • experience dealing with the public
  • teaching children new games and activities

gardening skills

Length of time required:
Varies according to activity.

           Location: 

          Varies according to activity.  Usually at the schoolhouse.
