Clean Water Project Fletcher's Creek

Fletche's Creek is working towards funding a Clean Water Project ($5,000) with Free the Children.

In order to fund this project they have been doing lots of fun events such as bake sales, jello eating contests, mini malls, silent auctions, stacking games, carnival games and much more.

The intention of the club is to focus on issues of social justice in the school and the community.

Green Team Gordon Graydon Secondary School

The Gordon Graydon Green Team has been doing amazing work in the school.

They recently held a fundraiser, "Winter Wonderland", to raise money to help clean up the school's courtyard.

The Green Team is always busy around the school educating peers and making the school look greener and healthier. The students and staff of Gordon Graydon really appreciate their work.

Agents of Change Erindale Secondary School

Agents of Change began in the first semester of 2009. Since then, the club has grown quickly to a dynamic group of almost 100 students The club has organized such diverse events as:

  • Water Walk" - to raise awareness and funds for clean water projects
  • Created the "Mitaala" bracelet initiative which links students in Peel with aspiring high school students in Africa and held an exciting 
  • Organized and held "Night of Magic", a fund raiser for an AIDS orphanage in Africa.  

This Spring, students will construct BioSand Water Filters to understand the science of sustainable clean water projects. 

Most recently, the group organized a rapid response to the crisis in Haiti. 

This summer, a team of these students, along with others in Peel, will travel to Kenya with Free The Children to build school and medical buildings, introduce BioSand Filters in a Maasai community and do tree planting in response to local deforestation and drought.

Green Team

Glenforest Secondary School

Glenforest's "Green Team" is currently engaged in the Litter Not Program with the City of Mississauga. They also co-ordinate the recycling initiatives in the school, while encouraging all students to be wary of their ecological footprints, here and at home.

Brick by Brick

Fallingbrook M.S.

The Brick by Brick club at Fallingbrook supports Free the Children. During the 2006-07 school year they are raising funds to purchase animals for families living in rural villages in the developing world.

Their fundraising activities are going to Free The Children for the Adopt A Village water campaign in Somalia.

Brampton Centennial S.S.

Brampton Centennial's Zonta Club is made up of a dedicated group of young people committed to making the world a better place. The club has been recognized by Zonta International by being presented with the Emma Conlon Award for service three years in a row.

Global Groundwork

Tomken Road M.S.

The club address global issues such as child labour and poverty. Several fundraisers have been very successful, with donations going to Free the Children. The next fundraiser will sell candy kabobs with the goal of raising $700.00. Grade 6 and 8 students will also team up for a bake sale to raise additional funds.

Global Youth Issues Club

Fletcher's Meadow S.S.

The Global Youth Issues Club works to educate and involve our school and the community about global issues affecting youth. We also support young people in need by raising money along with other groups in our school like FLASH Leadership , Christian Fellowship, and the Culture Club) for international development projects including the World Vision 30 Hour Famine, Plan International Child Sponsorship, UNICEF Disaster Relief, Free the Children, and others.

PALS (Peer Assisting Leadership Students)

Clarkson S.S.

PALS (Peer Assisting Leadership Students) sponsors a foster child in Zimbabwe and organize presentations in our school on Global Citzenship . We also contribute to local food banks and help out at school functions.
