Youth Troopers for Global Awareness

Youth Troopers for Global Awareness (YTGA) is a registered non-profit, youth led organization, addressing social issues through writing, visual art, and theatre.

YTGA began in the summer of 2006 with students attending John Fraser Secondary School. Tired of feeling paralyzed by the various social issues in our immediate community, as well as the international community, YTGA mobilized by creating a platform for self expression. Using writing as a tool, YTGA started a website for the youth, and slowly extended activities to engage in visual art and theatre. Please visit our website to learn more about YTGA. www.ytga.com.

All performances and workshops are led by high school students.

Topics include:

Workshops:

  • self expression through theatre

  • self expression through creative writing

*Note: All workshops can be altered slightly to focus on the Environment, Drugs, Bullying, the Media, World Issues or a topic of your choice.

Performances:

Series of short plays and dialogues about the issues presented.

*Note: A variety of performances are available. Please contact for more details.

Preferred grade levels: Grades 6 - 12
