A special event for grade 7 to 10 students and teachers to learn more about leadership, heritage, peace-building and global citizenship.

At Leadership Now! you will:

hear from keynote speaker Justin Trudeau, youth advocate
discover your leadership potential and ability to effect positive change
attend interactive workshops on leadership, heritage, peace-building and global citizenship
explore international and cultural issues by working with development experts and community partners from organizations like CIDA, India Rainbow, CPAR, World Vision and many more
win prizes by participating in a Fact Find challenge

Workshop sessions will include the following topics:

using media and the arts to promote change
developing in-depth action plans for integrating heritage, peace-building and international development into school events and activities throughout the year
using sports as an international peace-building tool
helping students discover and explore their leadership potential
tools to celebrate cultural heritage and understanding our role as Canadians in the world
panel discussion on Canada's role in international development and education. Panelists will include Canadian NGOs .

Here's how to register:

put together a team of eight students and one teacher in grades 7 to 10
register and return permission forms by Nov. 23 to secure your school's spot at the conference
first 100 Peel board teachers to register will receive supply coverage for the day

register additional teams and they will be added to a waiting list. You will be contacted following Nov. 23 if there is space.

Not a Peel board teacher but interested in attending?

Space has been reserved for teachers from school boards outside Peel. Here's how to register:
