Model United Nations

Peel secondary students gathered to discuss international arms trade at the Peel board's 13th annual Student Model United Nations on March 7, 2008. Click here for more information.

Leadership Now! student conference -

Leadership Now! was held at on Nov. 28 at the Pearson Convention Center. This one-day conference focused on leadership, heritage, peace-building and global citizenship. more information

R U AWARE? Spread the word, not HIV

RUAWARE? was held on Oct. 17, 2007 at the HJA Brown Education Centre. This annual half-day workshop is specifically designed for youth to promote leadership and create awareness about HIV and AIDS. Click here for more information.

eQUEST

More than 400 Peel board students in grades 7 to 12 attended eQUEST on Nov. 29, 2006 at the Pearson Convention Centre in Brampton. Participants heard from Nigel Fisher, President and CEO of UNICEF Canada, and participated in workshops facilitated by various Canadian organizations. Click here for more information.

Just Theatre for Change Tour April 14 - June 1, 2008

This in-schools theatre tour will educate students on issues around children's rights and child-labour through the viewing of an original play, You, In the Shadow. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in an innovative and interactive theatre-based workshop developed in collaboration with Toronto's Children's Peace Theatre after the viewing of the play. more information request form

KALEIDOSCOPE Real World Video Challenge

The Kaleidoscope Real World Video Challenge invites children and youth between the ages of 8-18 to produce a short on-line video on what they think is the most important global issue affecting the real world. Click here for more information.
