CHANGE IN JOB STATUS
Statement of Policy
The Peel District School Board has approved the establishment of a policy whereby any staff member whose voluntary request for a change in job status is approved and whose salary will be adversely affected, may request, of the Director of Education, the following consideration:
A. Current salary will be maintained for one year from the date of accepting a lower position.
B. In the second year the employee's salary may be calculated as the mid-point between the salary on schedule and the present salary.
C. In the third year the employee's salary will be on the regular salary schedule.
In accordance with the following administrative regulations:

1. The voluntary request must be made to the Superintendent of Human Resources Support Services or Director of Human Resources Support Services as appropriate through the Immediate Supervisor and the Superintendent.
2. The Superintendent, mentioned in #1 above, develops an assessment of the request and forwards it to the Superintendent of Human Resources Support Services or Director of Human Resources Support Services as appropriate.
3. The voluntary request must have an acceptable reason:
a) change in direction/workload
b) health reasons
c) age
4. The voluntary request to use this policy must be received prior to active employment in the new position by the Superintendent of Human Resources Support Services or Director of Human Resources Support Services as appropriate.
5. The voluntary request will not be approved due to obtaining a position through the posting process unless items #1 and 2 have been addressed in advance.
